From any of these, pre-book a taxi or take a bus to Gokarna. Rideshares are not reliable on this stretch.
By bus
Overnight KSRTC and private sleeper buses from Bengaluru take about 10–12 hours and reach
Gokarna bus stand in the morning. From Goa, frequent buses run from Madgaon and Panaji in
roughly 3–4 hours. Local buses connect Gokarna with Kumta, Karwar and Ankola for onward travel.
By road
Gokarna is on NH66, the coastal highway. Self-drive from Goa takes 3–4 hours, from Mangaluru 4–5 hours and
from Bengaluru 9–11 hours. Roads are good for most of the year; expect slower, slick sections in the
